Deleting multiple contacts from your iPhone can be done directly from the Contacts app or through the Settings app. Here are two methods you can use:

Method 1: Using the Contacts App

  1. Open the Contacts App:
    • Locate and open the Contacts app on your iPhone. The icon looks like a silhouette of a person on a gray background.
  2. Select Contacts:
    • Tap on “Groups” in the upper-left corner and choose the group or account containing the contacts you want to delete.
  3. Select Multiple Contacts:
    • Tap on the “Select” option in the upper-right corner.
    • Now, tap on each contact you want to delete. Selected contacts will have a checkmark next to their names.
  4. Delete Contacts:
    • After selecting the contacts, tap on the trash can icon (Delete) at the bottom.
  5. Confirm Deletion:
    • Confirm the deletion when prompted. The contacts will be moved to the “Recently Deleted” folder, and they will be permanently deleted after 30 days.

Method 2: Using the Settings App

  1. Open Settings:
    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll Down and Select “Contacts”:
    • Scroll down and tap on “Contacts.”
  3. Accounts:
    • Under the “Contacts” section, you’ll see a list of your accounts. Tap on the account (e.g., iCloud, Gmail) where the contacts are stored.
  4. Toggle Contacts Off and On:
    • Toggle the switch next to “Contacts” to turn it off. You will be prompted to delete contacts from your iPhone.
  5. Toggle Contacts On:
    • After turning off contacts, toggle the switch back on to re-enable contacts. Choose to delete from iPhone when prompted.

Notes:

  • Recently Deleted Folder: Contacts deleted from the Contacts app are moved to the “Recently Deleted” folder and can be recovered within 30 days.
  • Synced Accounts: If your contacts are synced with an online account (e.g., iCloud, Google), deleting them on your iPhone will also delete them from the associated account.
  • Manual Restoration: If you accidentally delete contacts, you can restore them within the “Recently Deleted” folder in the Contacts app.

Choose the method that suits your preference and workflow. Always double-check the contacts you are deleting to avoid unintentional removals.
