In PowerPoint, you can hide a slide temporarily without deleting it. This can be useful if you want to exclude a particular slide from a presentation without removing it permanently. Here’s how you can hide a slide:

Method 1: Using the Slide Sorter View

  1. Open your PowerPoint presentation:
    • Launch PowerPoint and open the presentation containing the slide you want to hide.
  2. Go to the “View” tab:
    • Click on the “View” tab in the PowerPoint ribbon.
  3. Switch to Slide Sorter View:
    • In the View tab, click on “Slide Sorter.”
  4. Select the Slide:
    • In the Slide Sorter view, locate and select the slide you want to hide.
  5. Right-click and Choose “Hide Slide”:
    • Right-click on the selected slide, and from the context menu, choose “Hide Slide.”
  6. Verify Slide Hidden:
    • The hidden slide will appear with a diagonal line across it in the Slide Sorter view, indicating that it is hidden.

Method 2: Using the Slide Show Setup

  1. Open your PowerPoint presentation:
    • Open the presentation where you want to hide a slide.
  2. Go to the Slide Show tab:
    • Click on the “Slide Show” tab in the PowerPoint ribbon.
  3. Click on “Set Up Slide Show”:
    • In the Set Up group, click on “Set Up Slide Show.”
  4. Choose “Hidden Slide”:
    • In the Set Up Show dialog box, under the Show slides section, select “Hidden slides.”
  5. Select the Slide:
    • Close the dialog box and go back to the Normal view.
    • In the Slides pane, locate and select the slide you want to hide.
  6. Right-click and Choose “Hide Slide”:
    • Right-click on the selected slide, and from the context menu, choose “Hide Slide.”
  7. Verify Slide Hidden:
    • The hidden slide will appear with a diagonal line across it, indicating that it is hidden.

Unhiding a Slide:

  • To unhide a slide, follow the same steps and choose the “Unhide Slide” option instead.

Tips:

  • Hidden slides will not appear in the regular slideshow, but they will still be part of the presentation file.
  • When you print or export the presentation, hidden slides won’t be included by default.

Hiding slides can be handy when you want to temporarily exclude certain content without deleting it from the presentation entirely.
