Microsoft Excel doesn’t have a built-in dark mode like some other applications or platforms. However, you can enable Dark Mode on Excel by using the system-wide dark mode settings on your operating system. Here’s how you can do it for some common operating systems:
Windows 10:
- Activate Dark Mode:
- Go to “Settings” by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon.
- Choose “Personalization” and then “Colors.”
- Under “Choose your color,” select “Dark.”
- Restart Excel:
- Close and reopen Microsoft Excel.
macOS:
- Enable Dark Mode:
- Go to the Apple menu and select “System Preferences.”
- Click on “General.”
- Choose “Dark” under the “Appearance” section.
- Restart Excel:
- Close and reopen Microsoft Excel.
Microsoft 365 Subscription Users:
If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription and are using the latest version of Excel, Microsoft has been working on introducing dark mode features. To enable it:
- Update Office:
- Ensure that your Microsoft 365 subscription is up to date, and you have the latest version of Excel.
- Check for Dark Mode:
- Open Excel and go to the “File” tab.
- Click on “Account” and check for an option related to Office Theme or Dark Mode.
